Tim Paige has quit as Australia’s Test Cricket Captain over an explicit sexting incident. This is the latest scandal to surround the team.
Paine will still be selected in the squad, despite the fact that the decision was made just 19 days before his scheduled match against England at the Ashes Down Under.
Paine replaced Steve Smith, who was embroiled in a ball-tampering scandal in 2018.
He has now resigned in the face of backlash for his conduct toward a former colleague at Cricket Tasmania on November 17, the day before the first test of the ashes at the Gabba, Brisbane.
Paine, who is now 36 years old, sent a picture of his penis along with several graphic messages to the woman.
The leaked exchange revealed both parties flirting, but the female coworker received the material in an unwelcome manner. She was reportedly taken aback by it and felt offended.
Paine’s messages made reference to sex acts. One message read: “Will You Want to Taste My d ?? F me. I’m really hard.
Another said: “Needing to ease the tension… Finish me off then with those lips ;)”, followed by an unwanted photo of the man’s genitals.
