PAIGE SPIRANAC reacted to Tiger Woods’s act of giving Justin Thomas a tampon.
After seven months, the golf icon returns to the PGA Tour at this week’s Genesis Open in California.
After beating Thomas in a race, television cameras caught woods giving him a tampon.
The 29-year old laughed and he put his arm around him.
After the exchange, Paige, No. 1 golf influencer on social media posted her reaction.
She wrote in response to a tweet highlighting the incident: “I want a LIV vs PGA Tour Ryder Cup type event so Tiger can hand Phil a tampon for outdriving him.”
Paige, 29, referred to Phil Mickelson who recruited the controversial Saudi LIV Tour.
Many other Twitter users also responded.
One person wrote: “This could be the future of golf.”
Another tweet read: “I’m excited to hear someone ask him tomorrow about this.”
Another said: “Please tell us this is real.”
One tweeter, for example, said: “Sports commentary laughing and the fact Tiger Woods was carrying the tampon around in his pocket ready to insult women again.”
The second said: “Can’t wait to see it being ripped apart, as this is not at all funny.”
Spiranac added later: “If anybody tries to cancel Tiger because of this, we will riot.” It’s funny.”
Woods, 47 has been suffering from the devastating car accident that occurred in February 2021. He suffered two fractures to his right leg, and his ankle was shattered.
After a long absence, he returned to the game miraculously. However, despite his walking difficulties he was not able to make it into the field at St Andrews last year.
Woods finished the opening round of yesterday’s play with a score of 69, including three birdies.
Woods was pleased with his performance after his long layoff. “I actually hit some decent shots and made a few putts.”
“Even though there was a small mishap, I managed to get back on track and keep it going. It was a good finish.”
He added, “There’s no feeling like the butterflies at game time and trying to calm down all that stuff.”
