CONOR McGREGOR, who is aiming for the welterweight championship at UFC 286 London, could be there.
On Saturday night, Britain’s Leon Edwards defends his strap against Kamaru Uman just six months after he knocked out the American with a head kick.
While on a business trip, And MacGregor could be watching his teammate Gunnar in action at his Black Forge Inn Pub.
He said on MMA Hour, “I would like to fight for the welterweight championship.” So, I’d like to do that. I’m ready to go up to 170lb.
I’d love to go back and see how things are going in that division. I’d love to see what is going on there.
“I might be able to present the card. We are making moves at Black Forge, London. I was scheduled after this.
Gunni is also on the bill so it would be great to see him live. “It would be great to see that welterweight championship for sure.”
McGregor, 34 has been out of action since July 2021, after he broke his leg in a fight with Dustin Poirier.
He is set to fight Michael Chandler in a rematch after they worked together on the reality show The Ultimate Fighter.
There is no date or location for the fight yet, and weight has yet to be confirmed.
McGregor, however, wants to make the move from lightweight to welterweight. Edwards, 30 and Usman 35, , are set to finish their trilogy.
The Irishman, who has only had three fights in the last two years, wants at least two bouts to be held in 2023.
He said: “I see it moving fairly fast when it moves. We are gearing up, and a lot is happening behind the scenes. But I think it will move quickly.
“There is no reason why it should not move quickly. I’m assuming late summer for Chandler, maybe a bit later depending on — I’d like that.
“Of course, there’s still half a year to go.” I want consistency. Consistency is my goal.
“I’ve been frustrated by this intermittent thing for the past couple of years, but for different reasons.
“But I would like to just get beyond that and just get in this consistency bracket.” “I feel that I can and will achieve it, and I am excited about it.”
