CONOR McGREGOR’s return fight against Michael Chandler was branded as a “MISMATCH” by the man who fought both of them.
McGregor will face Chandler after they finish their coaching in reality TV show The Ultimate Fighter.
Eddie Alvarez, former UFC champ, believes that it will be a simple night for the Irishman.
Alvarez, 39 years old, said in The MMA Hour, “If I were to guess, Mike Chandler does not wrestle.”
“If he stays with Conor, Conor will knock him out. It’s an odd match. Mike Chandler’s defence sucks. He has poor boxing and defence.
Conor is too quick and too fast to be hit by anything Mike Chandler throws.
“I feel that Mike should wrestle quickly and use this.” If he does not, then it will be a bad evening.
Alvarez, 34, was knocked down by McGregor in 2016, , losing the UFC lightweight championship.
After losing to Chandler in 2011, he won the rematch just three years later.
Alvarez is now set to make his debut in bare-knuckle fighting. He has taken aim at his former rival.
He said, “Mike Chandler isn’t ***. I want to let everyone know that fans wanted this fight.
“I knew what fans wanted, and that was me against Mike Chandler III. To be clear, I did try to make this fight happen.
“It is not my fault.” It’s not on me.
The fight never happened because the guy didn’t want to fight me. It’s not my fault, just to let the public know.
